Here it is, a brand new magazine for the Michiana business community.
    This is the second magazine for Maple City Media. We also produce Elkhart County Living, which began publishing last fall.
    The name Michiana Business Focus was chosen because this magazine will stay close to home and feature the owners and executives of our extensive and varied business community in the counties that make up Michiana.
    As you will see in this first issue, each magazine will have a theme. This issue’s theme is “women in business.” Our writers give you profiles of five women who are running established businesses or seeking to start their own enterprise.
    Also included are columns from local experts about business law, economic development, occupational health and business coaching. These columns will be ongoing features of Michiana Business Focus.
    But our intent is not to stand pat on what we offer. Therefore we ask that you, the reader, send in suggestions for who and what you would like to read about and what topics will help you run your own business more efficiently.
    Also, I invite you to send in announcements about your business expansions and personnel changes. These items are always news in the business community and we are glad to publish them.
